Christmas songs

These are the Christmas carols we will be using. Make sure you keep practicing!!!

Come on! Let's boogie to the Elf Dance!
Tie up your boots
Jump off the ladder
Pack up your clothes
Nothing's the matter
Mistletoe hangs
Up in the bedroom
Your sister's bangs
She cut them herself
Santa is here
Sleighbells are ringing
Twenty-one elves
They are all singing
Tesco is closed
So is the bakery
Everyone's at home
Watching TV

Santa Claus is coming
Hear the banjo strumming
Santa Claus is coming
Hear the banjo strumming
Chestnuts and fire
Holly and hay
Jesus and Mary
What a great day
Evergreen tree

Covered in snow
Tower of Bay-bal
Tower of glow
There's Aunt Marie
Hand on the fire
They give us good gifts
Like mittens and socks
Hijack a snow plow
Clear out the streets
Tell all of the neighbors
There's cookies to eat

Off the floor and give a shout
There's a lot to shout about
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's got the greatest gifts around

Away in a manger
No crib for a bed
The little Lord Jesus
Laid down his sweet head
The stars in the sky
Looked down where he lay
The little Lord Jesus
Asleep on the hay

The cattle are lowing
The baby awakes
But little Lord Jesus
No crying he makes
I love you, Lord Jesus
Look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle
’til morning is nigh
Be near me, Lord Jesus
I ask you to stay
Close by me forever
And love me, I pray
Bless all the dear children
In your tender care
And fit us for heaven
To live with you there

Santa Claus is coming
Hear the banjo strumming
Santa Claus is coming
Hear the banjo strumming
Santa Claus is coming
Hear the banjo strumming
Santa Claus is coming
Hear the banjo strumming
Off the floor and give a shout
There's a lot to shout about
Santa Claus is coming to town
He's got the greatest gifts around

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be
out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yule-tide gay
Next year all our troubles will be
miles away
Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Will be near to us once more
Someday soon, we all will be together
If the Fates allow
Until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

Silent Night

Silent night! Holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round young virgin mother and child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace! Sleep in heavenly peace!
Silent night, Holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.
Silent night, Holy night
Shepherds quake, at the sight
glories stream from heaven above
Heavenly, hosts sing Hallelujah.
Christ the Saviour is born,
Christ the Saviour is born.

Sleigh Ride
Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,
ring ting tingling too
Come on, it's lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you,
Outside the snow is falling
and friends are calling "Yoo hoo,"
Come on, it's lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you.
Our cheeks are nice and rosy
and comfy cozy are we
We're snuggled up together
like two birds of a feather would be
Let's take that road before us
and sing a chorus or two
Come on, it's lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you.
Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,
ring ting tingling too
Come on, it's lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you,
Outside the snow is falling
and friends are calling "Yoo hoo,"
Come on, it's lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you.

Zither Carol

Girls and boys, leave your toys, make no noise,
Kneel at his crib and worship him.
For this shrine, child divine, is the sign, our Saviour's here.
Alleluia the church bells ring, Alleluia the Angels sing,
Alleluia from everything all must draw near.

On that day, far away, Jesus lay,
Angels were watching round his head.
Holy child, Mother mild, undefiled, we sing your praise.
Alleluia the church bells ring, Alleluia the Angels sing,
Alleluia from everything all must draw near.

Shepherds came at the fame of your name,
Angels their guide to Bethlehem.
In that place, saw your face filled with grace, stood at your door.
Alleluia the church bells ring, Alleluia the Angels sing,
Alleluia from everything all must draw near.

Deck The Halls

Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Don we now our gay apparel,
Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Troll the ancient Yule tide carol,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

See the blazing Yule before us,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Strike the harp and join the chorus.
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Follow me in merry measure,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
While I tell of Yule tide treasure,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Fast away the old year passes,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Hail the new, ye lads and lasses,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Sing we joyous, all together,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Heedless of the wind and weather,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

It feels like Christmas
It's in the singing of a street corner choir
It's going home and getting warm by the fire
It's true, where ever you find love, it feels like Christmas  (boys)
A cup of kindness that we share with another
A sweet reunion with a friend or a brother
In all the places you find love, it feels like Christmas  (girls)
It is the season of the heart
A special time of caring
The ways of love made clear  (boys)

It is the season of the spirit
The message if we hear it
Is 'Make it last all year'  (girls)
It's in the giving of a gift to another
A pair of mittens that were made by your mother
It's all the ways that we show love that feel like Christmas  ( girls)
A part of childhood that we'll always remember
It is the summer of the soul in December
It's when you do your best for love, it feels like Christmas  (girls & boys)
It is the season of the heart
A special time of caring
The ways of love made clear (boys)

It is the season of the spirit
The message if we hear it
Is 'Make it last all year' (girls)
It's in the singing of a street corner choir
It's going home and getting warm by the fire
It's true, where ever you find love, it feels like Christmas (all)
It's true, where ever you find love
It feels like Christmas
It feels like Christmas
It feels like Christmas
It feels like Christmas (all)

Rudolph

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history!

  • What is the climate like?
  • What is their national food?
  • What is the main religion in the country?

History – The Romans

The Romans had many great inventions.

In your opinion, what was the Romans best invention? You need to explain what the invention is and explain why you think it is the greatest invention.

Apologies for the delay in the post, this was because of technical difficulties.
